The New 'Five Nights at Freddy's 2' Trailer Amps Up the Animatronic Horror

Five Nights at Freddy's 2, featuring Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard, is set to scare audiences this December. Despite Halloween being over, Blumhouse and Universal Pictures surprised fans by releasing the second trailer late at night, delivering a classic jumpscare experience.

The trailer begins with former night-shift security guard Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) struggling to move past the terrifying events involving animatronic creatures that Mike’s little sister Abby (Piper Rubio) once befriended in the first film.

"Who, in case you didn’t see the film, attacked their creator, Matthew Lillard’s deliciously psychotic William Afton, inside one of their suits, ending his terror."

As the sequel unfolds, Abby, an 11-year-old, can’t help but try reconnecting with the animatronics. However, she finds them far more dangerous and determined to hunt her, Mike, and Vanessa down.

Fans of Scott Cawthon’s original games will recognize that the movie’s storyline takes cues primarily from the second and third games, as hinted by the trailer’s content.
