Saoirse Ronan Confirmed for Beatles Biopics Cast

Saoirse Ronan has been officially cast as Linda McCartney in director Sam Mendes’s ambitious project The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event. She will star opposite Paul Mescal, who portrays Paul McCartney.

According to Deadline, Sony has finalized additional casting deals with Mia McKenna-Bruce, Anna Sawai, and Aimee Lou Wood. They will play Maureen Starkey (née Cox), Yoko Ono, and Pattie Boyd, the first wives of Ringo Starr and George Harrison, and the second wife of John Lennon, respectively.

“Maureen, Linda, Yoko, and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right,” said director Sam Mendes. “And I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure.”

Each of the four films will center on a different member of The Beatles. Alongside Mescal as McCartney, Barry Keoghan will portray Ringo Starr, Harris Dickinson will take on the role of John Lennon, and Joseph Quinn will play George Harrison.

The films are scheduled for release in April 2028. Mendes’s project marks one of the most ambitious explorations of The Beatles’ legacy ever attempted on screen.

Ronan and Mescal last appeared together in the 2023 sci-fi thriller Foe. Linda McCartney (née Eastman) was renowned as a photographer, musician, and animal rights advocate.
