Stockport ‘L!STEN’ Youth Alliance Receives National Award

Stockport’s L!STEN Youth Alliance was honoured with the British Citizen Youth Award 2025 for its significant impact on the local community. The Dame Mary Perkins British Citizen Group Award was presented during the October 2025 Roll of Honour ceremony at the Palace of Westminster.

This award celebrates L!STEN’s outstanding dedication to enhancing the wellbeing and lives of young people throughout Stockport.

Partnership and Inclusivity

L!STEN is a collaboration between Stockport Council and the social enterprise PIE: Pursuing Individual Excellence. Established in April 2023, the alliance aims to amplify youth voices, tackle key issues, and ensure young people’s feedback guides decision-making borough-wide.

To ensure full inclusivity and accessibility, a local SEND organisation was also commissioned to support and represent young people with additional needs throughout the programme.

Transforming Youth Engagement

L!STEN has revolutionized youth participation in Stockport, giving young people a sense of pride, belonging, and a genuine voice in driving change. This prestigious accolade highlights their achievements and is well earned.
