Comedian Alan Carr has traveled to the United States ahead of the Celebrity Traitors final, explaining he needed a break from public backlash following his role on the BBC reality series.
Carr, 49, remains one of the two Traitors left in the competition, sharing the screen with singer Cat Burns, 25. His quick wit and infectious laughter have made him a viral figure online, but not without controversy.
He recently shared that his friend Paloma Faith is “not happy” with some of his behavior on the show.
“I'm the most hated man in the UK, I've had to come here to Orlando to get away from it. Everyone hates me!”
Speaking on Heart Radio with hosts Olly Murs and Mark Wright, Carr joked about fleeing to Orlando, Florida, with his nephew and niece to avoid public scrutiny.
“I just needed to get away because it's stressful murdering every day. My Christmas card list is getting smaller and smaller.”
During the interview, Murs suggested Carr could lean into his villainous TV persona by dressing as a Traitor at Universal Studios, possibly wearing a cape from the Harry Potter area.
“I've come here for a break!”
Carr laughed and joked he might wear the cape on Volcano Bay’s famous water slide, carrying a Traitors lantern for effect.
Amid public criticism over his Celebrity Traitors persona, Alan Carr humorously admitted escaping to Orlando for peace, keeping spirits high with his trademark wit.
